|Doom Chill Russell's Hot Streak|
Wednesday, April 25th, 2012: It was the best of both worlds for the Laredo Doom today at Buffalo Fields as they defeated the Buffalo Antelopes 12-6 and also ended Michael Russell's 20-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Buffalo left fielder failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Michael, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Doom skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Russell frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."
Batting .190 to date, Russell has no home runs and 0 RBIs.
