Cooper Fires No-Hitter
|Cooper Fires No-Hitter|
Sunday, July 3rd, 2011: In a dominant outing, Timothy Cooper of North Pole totally silenced the bats of the Seattle Pilots. In the 11-0 victory he faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 7 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"I'll be very honest with you," his manager said. "I didn't know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning. I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had. Then I happened to notice that they didn't have any hits."
Commenting on his defeat, the losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse how he saw the game, "Well, it was pretty simple today, the Santas had all the hits and all the runs. And Cooper pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This year in 19 starts, Cooper has recorded 10 wins and absorbed 5 losses. He has pitched 139.1 innings, allowed 122 hits, struck out 101 and has a 2.52 ERA.
